We have compiled a list of some of the most frequently asked questions (FAQS) about staying at One South Place Hotel in Belize City.
GENERAL HOTEL INFORMATION
Standard check-in time is at 3 PM and check-out at 11 AM.
We honour requests for early check-in and late check-out, but availability is subject to confirmation and availability. Please note that applicable charges may apply for succeeding hours.
Please dial extension 211 from your lobby phone between the hours of 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM for assistance or visit the front desk.
Housekeeping services are available by requesting it from the front Desk.
Stay connected during your stay with free 200 MB bandwidth internet service provided throughout our guestrooms and public areas. Please log-in with your username and the password provided at check-in.
Yes, we do offer luggage storage free of charge for a maximum of 3 days. We reserve the right to deny storage of oversized and suspicious items.
As much as we love pets, unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate them in our rooms or any of our common areas.
Yes, however parking space is subject to availability. Registered hotel guests are entitled to one (1) complimentary parking space per room.
Yes, we have one room that has features that make it more accessible and comfortable for senior citizens and persons with disabilities.
Please note that additional charges are applicable for linen stains and other cleaning, or damages caused intentionally or unintentionally. Penalties vary depending on the extent and severity of the damage. These include, but are not limited to, cleaning, repair, or replacement charges for stained walls, vomit, blood and food stain on linens, and broken furniture and fittings. The exact cost will be determined on a case-by-case basis by the General Manager.
One South Place Hotel is committed to catering to the needs of all guests. A designated smoking area is located on the ground floor Garden area for your convenience. However, usage of hookah, cigarettes, marijuana, vape pens, and e-cigarettes is prohibited in all guest rooms. A fee equivalent to 100 USD per incident will be charged to your account if a smoking incident occurs in your room during your stay.
Our General Manager will be glad to assist you with your flight information, reconfirmation, and airline schedules. Kindly visit the front desk for assistance.
Airport transfers to or from the Philip Goldson Airport and the Sir Barry Bowen Municipal Airport are available for 30 USD for up to parties of up to 4 People. Additional people carry an extra 5 USD per extra person.
Our hotel van can take you to locations in Belize City for the same prices as the local taxis. If you wish to enjoy Belize City nightlife and dining we also have trusted local taxis that can take you out and pick you up after-hours for return to the Hotel.
RESERVATIONS & CANCELLATIONS
Yes, but keep in mind that cancellations made less than three (3) days prior to arrival are subject to 100% charge.
The hotel does not require an incidental deposit that may be settled through cash or credit card upon check-in. However. One South Place Hotel reserves the right to charge guests for any damages caused.
We accept BZ or USD cash and all major credit cards as payment.
We honour all major credit cards (Scotia, Atlantic, Belize Bank, Heritage, Visa, MasterCard, Amex) Please present your credit card upon check-in.
Yes, you can book on behalf of someone else. For guests using another person’s credit card, a credit card authorization (CCA) form will be required.
We do have a café located on the ground floor, but the room rate does not include breakfast. Please see Meg’s Corner Café section for the menu.
LOCATION
One South Place is in downtown Belize City on historic Regent Street, a block away from the Belize City harbour and near the city centre where you can find shopping, sightseeing, restaurants and bars. We are just a couple minutes’ walk away from the city’s key tourism sites, including St. John’s Church, The Belize Swing Bridge, Culture House, the Bliss Institute. The two terminals for water taxis that can take you to San Pedro and Cay Caulker are within walking distance as well.
The Barry Bowen Municipal Airstrip is a 10 minute Taxi drive from the hotel and the PGIA (Philip Goldson International Airport) is 10 miles away.
The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of most major banks.
ROOMS & RATES
Yes, kids 12 years old and below are allowed to stay free-of-charge. The number of kids allowed may vary depending on the room type.
Yes, but such requests are subject to room availability, applicable charges, and rate difference at the time of check-in.
Yes, we offer extra beds should you require one. These are only available for the triple-room category and above and are offered at USD 25 (BZD $50) additional for 1 bed.
Invited Guests must be registered at the front desk and are allowed to visit the room until 12 midnight. However, for overnight stays beyond the allotted time there will be an extra person surcharge of 30 USD.
For rooms, a physical door tag is provided to hang outside your door to serve the purpose of “Do Not Disturb” and “Make up Room” messages. You may also request the front desk to take messages for you during this time.
An Air Conditioner Remote is provided in your room to set your desired temperature.
Your rooms are provided with towels and bath and body collections designed to rejuvenate your body and mind and the number is based on the number of registered occupants.
The electricity is at 110 volts /60 hertz.
There are microwaves available for your use in the Ground Floor Kitchen and in the first-floor lobby for warming food and making popcorn only.
Irons and Ironing board are available at the front desk. Just request them when you check in or you can request them ahead of time.
The protection of your valuables is our business. For your security and convenience, we recommend that all valuables be kept in the safe provided in each room for the duration of your stay. The Management shall not be held liable for any loss within the hotel.
We would like to reassure you that we maintain strict security at the hotel on a 24-hour basis. The general area of the Hotel is safe as it is next door to the Corporate office of the Belize Tourism Board and is covered by security cameras, The Tourism Police Station is across the street. We also get daily scheduled visits from the Tourism Police. For immediate assistance
and advice on how best to move around interesting and beautiful Belize city, please contact the General Manager at the Front Desk or the Security Guard on duty.
We provide overnight washing and dry-cleaning services upon request. The cost is dependent on the items and the quantity.

Yes, ice is available upon request.

We work with reputable and dependable tour guides to be able to help you plan tours for literally the entire country. Because of its central location, One South Place is perfectly located as a hub for daily tours to both the islands and inland. Just contact the front desk and the General Manager.
